Royalties

St. Luke Publishers has made it its goal to establish cost effective procedures for publishing books (digital, print and audiobooks) so that its authors can receive the largest percentage possible for their work.

E-book Royalties
As you may know, e-books are not only priced lower in the digital marketplace, but they cost much less to produce and distribute as well. Authors who publish with St. Luke Publishers receive 50% of the retail cost of their e-book sales. (Keep in mind that traditional publishers only pay their authors 7-10% of the retail price of their book.)

For example, if you sell an e-book on Amazon Kindle for $5.00, the royalty break down is as follows:

Author receives 50%: $2.50
Amazon receives 30%: $1.50
St. Luke Publishers receives 20%: $1.00

Print-On-Demand Royalties

Sales that you Make Personally:

You keep everything, minus the printing costs.

For example: if your book retails for 10.99, and printing costs $2.00, you will be paid the entire $8.99.

Sales Made through Book Distributors

For all books sold through our distributors to bookstores, libraries, wholesalers, etc., authors receive approx. 12% of the amount of the retail price of the book.

For example: If your book retails for 11.99.

The distributor takes 60% which is $7.19
The author receives 12% which is $1.45
St. Luke Publishers receives 28% which is $3.35 (The printing cost of the book is taken out of St. Luke Publishers' percentage.)

Sales Made through Amazon.com

For all books sold through Amazon.com, authors receive approx. 40% of the amount that Amazon.com pays for the book.

For example: If your book retails for 11.99.

Amazon.com takes 70% which is $8.39
The author receives 12% which is $1.44
St. Luke Publishers receives 18% which is $2.16 (The printing cost of the book is taken out of St. Luke Publishers' percentage.)
